Maria Tiago

Maria Teresa Borges Tiago is an Assistant Professor at the University of Azores and an invited professor at NOVA Information Management School (NOVA IMS). She has a Ph.D. in International Marketing and has an MSc and an MBA from the Portuguese Catholic University. She teaches marketing courses. She is a Research Fellow at the Centre of Applied Economics Studies of the Atlantic, from the University of the Azores and Advance/CSG, from ISEG - Lisbon University. Her main research interests include Digital Marketing, Social Media, and Tourism. She has published articles in peer-reviewed scientific international journals such as Journal of Business Research, Psychology, and Marketing, Management Research News, Journal of Business and Economic Management, Business Horizons, Tourism Review, Tourism Management, Environmental Research, International Journal of Strategic Innovative Marketing, among others.

Duarte Nuno da Silva Vieira Chaves develops his professional activity as an art historian, university professor and researcher in the area of Cultural Heritage; he holds a PhD in Art History from the University of Évora, and a Post-Doctoral in the thematic area of Tourism, from the University of the Azores. He is the author and coordinator of several scientific publications, with emphasis on the edition of the book «As Imagens de Vestir da Procissão dos Terceiros: um legado franciscano em S. Miguel, Açores, séculos XVII a XXI» edited by the Museu Vivo do Franciscanismo, in 2018, and reissued in 2020, by Letras Lavadas. This publication was rewarded, in the year of its 1st edition, with the “Lusitania História de Portugal” award given by the Portuguese History Academy. He currently promotes a research on the history of food, and is developing a database of Azorean products (in dialogue with the primary and secondary sectors), with the provision of georeferenced information (origin, travel and history of typical products). It is also worth mentioning the scientific research in the area of Island and Atlantic History, particularly on the Franciscan presence in the archipelagos of the Azores and Madeira.

He teaches marketing courses, and he is a Research Fellow at the Advance/CSG, ISEG - Lisbon University, and at the Centre of Applied Economics Studies of the Atlantic – Azores (Portugal). His main research interests include Knowledge Management, Digital Marketing, Social Media, and Tourism. He has published articles in peer-reviewed scientific international journals such as the Journal of Business Research, Psychology and Marketing, Tourism Management, Business Horizons, Tourism Review, The Business Review, International Journal on Strategic Innovative Marketing, Environmental Research, and Management Research News, among others.
